White Chalk is great. I didn't like it at first so I put it down for like a year. Then I tried again and it clicked.

Yeah, I think I initially couldn't get past her singing in a higher range. I've got to be in the right mood for it, for sure, but it works very well in the proper setting. I always remembered thinking I liked about every other song on "Uh Huh Her", but I really enjoyed it this morning all the way through.

I still can't get into her albums with John Parish though. The first one they did has a couple of tracks I like, but, outside of 'Black Hearted Love', there isn't much else I like from "A Woman A Man Walked By".

Missed out on that Monk RSD release, but, then again, I didn't really try all that hard to get it yesterday. RSD prices are kinda insane tho

I went to Waterloo today, and I had a copy of Vic Chesnutt's "West Of Rome", and a Blaze Foley release in my hands. The two combined would have been nearly $60 when all was said and done. The more I shopped, the more irritated I got. Ended up putting both of them both back. Not playing that game.

Nowhere around here got that Monk release. I wonder if they didn't get a full delivery.

If you like power pop, you really need to check out Sweet Spirit's "St. Mojo". A lot of variety of sounds across the tracks of that record.

Here is a live clip of them doing their power ballad from the album, 'The Mighty', ad a Free At Noon radio concert. On the album, the backing vocals remind me a bit of some of Queen's power ballads. I say it all the time, but, frontwoman Sabrina Ellis is a force to be reckoned with. https://www.vuhaus.com/videos/sweet-spirit-the-mighty-free-at-noon

@teee74 Even more so on their harder charging tunes. She and the lead guitarist are also in the more garage/punk group A Giant Dog. Her voice is electric. Like a souped up Ronnie Spector.

Cool I will, thanks @Philip This stuff kind of takes me back to when I played in a funky-ish jam-ish band. We'd play a bill and some nights there would be guys that played math rock type stuff and all the other bands would watch with jaws dropped.

Weren't some folks a bit bent out of shape about the signature on the signed copies of "To Pimp A Butterfly" when that finally got released?

Ahh, right. I couldn't remember which release. I just remember reading that some folks felt kind of slighted by the actual signature itself when all was said and done.

I'm with @Chris Topher ...the small signature wasn't my beef, it was the fact that they sold thousands and thousands of autographed copies then couldn't deliver at the promised time. I eventually just gave up and cancelled the order.

The signature was a slap added in after salt was thrown in the wound. It didn't quite hurt compared to the sting, but it's still insulting.

That being said, yeah, I'm probably getting it

I don't think many plebs interact with celebrities, Coachella is just such a place for celebs to be seen. The interactions I hated the most at Coachella were those with my fellow attendees. So many feathers and headdresses, so much warpaint and wretchedness.

Yeah, it would seem that with the last few years of "The 10 Things You Should Never Wear At Festivals" articles, the crowds are steering away from that cliché dress. I agree though, still a large chunk of insufferable goers which can mostly be avoided by skipping the EDM tents.
