    Hey friends!

VMP’s own Cameron Schaefer will be doing in AMA in this thread on Wednesday (7/11) at 10am MDT.

Cam has been around since the early days of VMP (Feb 2013) and has worn a lot of hats over the years. He’s now our Head of Music & Brand, overseeing curation, content & community. He’ll be hanging out in this thread on Wednesday to answer your music & VMP-related questions. See ya there!

    Thanks for taking your time!

My question: It seems like VMP now is very different from when it first started as a club sending out standard editions of records. In a perfect world, what is your ultimate vision of what VMP would look like 5 years from now?

Any idea how close we are to the next side sub? Any hints on what it will be?

Also: what's your favorite summer drink?

Any plans to do a yearly plan for all three tracks together, or to add on a track at a discounted yearly price (preferred to split up the payments)?

Also any chance we would ever get a U2 exclusive or RotM if the opportunity arose?

How do you choose exclusives? Even though I know you must get backups, how big of a problem is warped records for you and is there a solution that you see to the problem?

Or just a yearly price at a discount per track that gets more discounted the more tracks you add. Please.

Can you shed some light on how you prioritize shipping order? Sometimes my boxes go out the very first day, sometimes the very last. It would be great to know what the logic is - Third Man is very transparent around how they prioritize shipments and I really appreciate that.

I feel like there’s an underrepresentation of electronic and pop music in both Essentials and store exclusives. Any upcoming plans to change that? Also, VMP should repress Robyn’s Body Talk and Lily Allen’s Alright, Still.

How often the guesses or wishlist threads get you on track to do an AOTM, Classics, RHH or Store Exclusive, or is it purely a matter of coincidence when a wish come true ?

Yea that's what I mean. A system like bullmoose or fatbeats where every dollar I spend in the store earns me points which I can then spend for discounts and the like. It's really the only way Ill start buying non exclusives from the store again

Why does the rap & hip hop track lean so heavily on older records? Is it difficult to do more recent albums similar to Noname's Telefone? Which rap & hip hop album has generated the most excitement in your eyes?

Why was the decision of announcing Classics and RHH several months in advanced changed? Was it because of a production standpoint or just to try and make it exciting? (I prefer knowing in advance.)

@cjschaefer a while back I recall staff saying how hard it was getting rap and hip hop artists on board with vinyl releases. How has that changed in the last two years, if at all?
