Created a thread for people to share what they're spinning on the turntable right now. I've got Run the Jewels 2 on teal vinyl playing atm.

My table is currently out of commission. Otherwise, I'd have the new Django Django album on.

I listened to Sufjan Stevens - Seven Swans on pink vinyl last night. Saw him in Richmond Wednesday night. Played all of Carrie and Lowell, a couple Seven Swans songs, and ended with Chicago. Hell of a show if you can get out and see him on this tour.

I think they only pressed it on teal, except for maybe the full album & instrumental 4LP version.

I've been meaning to ask you if you have any other Monk recommendations. I finally got around to listening to my copy of "Underground" last week, and really enjoyed it. I've enjoyed "Brilliant Corners" for years, but, for some reason, I never really pursued Monk's catalogue any further. Any recommendations? I've read good things about "Monk's Dream" and "Solo Monk".

Both albums are excellent. Pretty much anything he recorded for Riverside is the way to go, though. He recorded with excellent side men during that time: Gigi Gryce, Coltrane, Rollins, Hawkins, etc. The Quartet years, mainly chronicled on the Columbia albums, are fine.

Also, Monk's early recordings at Blue Note are essential.
