Absolutely. My Oasis albums rarely get any play time but the CD singles are absolutely jam packed with great tracks. They even featured them prominently on their TV appearances. I remember Talk Tonight and Acquiesce on the White Room (isn’t that what that show was called?), never mind that’s Whatever was also a single release.

Kind of an off year IMO 97 and 99 are much better. I'm not really big on a lot of the 90's staples during this time.

    2. Belle and Sebastian - The Boy With The Arab Strap
    3. Beck - Mutations
    4. Stars of the Lid - Per Aspera Ad Astra

    7. Stars of the Lid - Maneuvering the Nocturnal Hum (EP)
    8. Jonathan Richman - I'm So Confused

Most of these aren't albums that I actually listened to in 1998... that list would have probably looked much different.

    1. Massive Attack - Mezzanine
    2. Manic Street Preachers - This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours
    3. Oasis - The Masterplan (I know it's a b-sides collection but it's also their 3rd best album).
    4. Smashing Pumpkins - Adore
    5. R.E.M. - Up
    6. Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing
    7. Pearl Jam - Yield
    8. Beck - Mutations
    9. Mansun - Six
    10. The Offspring -Americana (1998 me would never forgive myself if I didn't have this on my list even though this album has not aged well AT ALL)

    Honorable Mentions

    Gomez - Bring It On
    Mercury Rev - Deserter's Songs
    Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty

So my proper full on return to the forum with a read through entire thread gave me some Album enlightenment....
Heres me thinking everyone owned Neutral Milk Hotel but didnt play it because it hurts ears .

1998 were my University years spent listening to Aphex Twin / FSOL and other obscure electronic music acts that made me cool and suited my bong habit.

Is it me... or you have not posted in a while? Or do we just hang out in different corners of the forum?
