WOW...That's crazy! It's as if the records know that you're a super sexy guy so they want to be naughty and grind and body roll on your turntable
@NathanRicaud dammit man, this is serious business! I literally had a nightmare about warped records last night. THEY'RE IN MY HEAD NOW
Uh... are you um... are you sure it was the warped nightmare record that killed me in that very specific and not at all disturbing way? Like, can I get a solid confirmation on that? And maybe a signed affidavit?
Have you tried.....
I'm just imagining/picturing your nightmare in your head - where warped records taunt you and no one believes you.....then the warped records kill you. So the horror movie would be you having that nightmare (it would be the dream/nightmare scene because it's so over-the-top and unrealistic for a vinyl to talk and haunt you).
Yeesh.. When you get a playable one, let me know what you think. Wishing I didn't swap that one!
With my clamp I can flatten it enough to play it, and I did. It sounds good, very quiet. The vocals are more dynamic than the piano. The piano is back in the mix and bit softer and muddier. Not bad, just mixed that way on the master I'm sure. She sounds like she's in the room with you, the piano does not. But it's quiet, sounds good and all in all when I get a flat one it'll be great.
Awesome! Sounds exactly like something I wish I didn't swap! Lol, stepping into tomorrow will be glorious though
WHY I OUGHTA
Stepping Into Tomorrow sounds incredible for what it's worth. It absolutely sings.
On a lighter note, how do you like the 2Xperience? There is one for sale nearby and I'm wondering if it may be better than my vintage Harman Kardon T60.
The upright bass sounds so good.
I admittedly have zero point of reference because aside from the Marantz we had when I was a kid this is the only TT I've owned. But I love it after the first year of use. The ONLY thing I would say is my counterweight very slowly shifts as I play records so I have to keep an eye on it every couple of sessions to make sure it's at 15 (150). It's a minor thing and it only shifts like .01 per listening session, but it does do it. Other than that it's been amazing.
EDIT - May have fixed the minor weight issue, very easy fix. Seems to have done the trick.
Good to hear - I'll see how next months ROTMs shake out, but if nothing strikes close my fancy I'm definitely swapping in Stepping into Tomorrow.
I guess you could say you'll be...Swapping into Tomorrow?
It's one of those ones that I went back and forth on because... it's got that 70's fusion cheese thing going on, which I wasn't sure I could handle. But it's a whole different beast on vinyl than it is listening to Spotify. It's a fantastic master and pressing. Blew me away once I got it on my TT.
And yeah @kvetcha you're right that standup bass on Dearie sounds incredible.
Mine is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Can't wait to spin it. Has anyone received/spun Jimmy McGriff yet? Looking forward to that one as well.
This is beautiful. Nice pressings, sounds lovely(at least on my system). You guys are in for a treat. Thanks again to @Storf & Co.
I love classics.
While we're at it, I would love to see Esquivel's "See it in Sound" as we were talking about it the other day in the what's spinning thread. Would be awesome if you guys did anything with it.
Can't wait for next month!
I live in Montreal Canada and have already received my copy. I usually receive my copies on the 24th or 25th so I am stoked that this showed up so quickly! Cannot wait to spin it tonight.
