Hey, any Buffalove on VMP?
Well, I'm a Buffalo native ... does that count? I live in Virginia now. But still a huge Bills/Sabres fan and get up to WNY once or twice a year.
Kinda works! Man, too many have moved away. It's too bad.
Syracuse here, (close enough) was at UB for college 05-09 though!
Nice! I actually live mostly in Rochester now. WNY for life.
Rochester! Been here for... 15 years now(!)
I'm from Rochester but I'm living in Buffalo for now for school.
Around the area often to visit family.
I try to visit Black Dots when I'm out that way.
So this isn't about the magnificent beast known as the Buffalo?
Thread had me excited for some wings

I NEED Duff's in my life every time I go back to Buffalo.
Not from Buffalo, but I travel there a lot for work and I'm beginning to really like it there (note: I've never been there in the winter... yet). I always make a point to stop at Record Theatre when I'm up there. That place is great!!
*pokes in* hi
so which of you so-and-sos got the last of the Courtney Barnett picture discs at Revolver last Saturday? (it's fine, I got it on discogs for what I assume was at/close to list)
Anyone feel like giving some Buffalo recommendations? My wife and I are traveling there for the first time later this month. What record shops and breweries should we hit up? Any recommendations for cool things to see and do in the area?
Revolver Records on Hertel. Jam Records is right down the street but I’ve actually never been there.
I used to be an owner of Community Beer Works, so I’m going to be biased when I say “go to CBW”, but go to CBW. Resurgence is like two blocks away: park on Lafayette for CBW and just walk to Resurgence because parking is dicey there sometimes.
Big Ditch has a nice bar/restaurant and their beer is good. I actually haven’t been to most of the local breweries recently/ever, sadly. OFW/Gene McCarthy’s was great when I went a few years ago. But don’t take me leaving anything out as a slight. I’m just out of touch.
My Mom still lives there. Record Theater closed it's doors last year after the owner past away the family liquidated quickly to pay off debts.
Revolver on Hertel is good but can be expensive. Record Baron is also expensive. Other small shops are not that good or have closed. Speaker shop can sometimes have a nice small collection of Audiophile records. Thrift stores are pretty picked over.
I have much better luck digging through bins in other towns.
