I know we're always so pumped each month when we get these records in the mail, but let's not forget these drinks! Anyone have a favorite so far? How'd it feel when you had the record spinning and you had your drink and were sippin'? Have you ever tired to make one of the cocktails and it just be a fail?

Also what's your favorite thing to drink listening to a record?

I'm a craft beer guy living with my in-laws until my wife and my first house is built (few more months) so money has been tight and buying bottles of alcohol is low on that list as of now, haha.

Yeah, I'm more of a beer guy than an liquor guy. Although the drink recipe is nice, but It's not for me.

I haven't actually tried any of the included cocktail recipes yet, but if I'm drinking while listening to a record it's generally a local craft beer or a bourbon & coke

The cocktail pairings were actually what sold me on the club...soooo I guess I'm either an alcoholic or a really giant nerd. I anxiously await for the record to arrive, grab the recipe and run to the store for the ingredients before I even tear into the plastic on the record. My first shipment was in May, and so far, the only cocktail I haven't made is the one for this month, because it was too much of a hassle to make two kinds of syrup for a virgin beverage.

One of my favorites is the one that came with the Sisyphus album. It was port and dark rum with egg white in it. I never would have expected those things to go well together.

Typically, I'm a craft beer, whiskey, and dry red wine drinker at home. But I love any excuse to play bartender, and a new record is the perfect excuse.

I'm not much of a hard liquor person, but I still find it interesting to see what people like. What was you opinion on the other cocktails?

So glad to hear this - we put a lot of time into finding a balance between more complex drinks with harder to find ingredients, but also wanting it to be accessible to the majority of the club. Have some good ones, picked by the artists, coming in future months!

Since G&T's are my favorite drink, now I really can't wait to get this record!

I primarily drink craft beer and single malt scotch. Half of the reason I joined VMP was the cocktail pairing. Now I'll be able to expand my music and cocktail exposure. Looking forward to this months!

Has anyone tried the Jan cocktail pairing yet? Any thoughts?

    I LOVE craft beer.

Would love if one of these releases comes with a specific beer pairing.

For me it depends on the music.
Classic rock, punk, etc. Craft Beer, definitely.
Jazz, blues, piano: manhattan or similar cocktail.
Classical, instrumentals, low-key, a taste or 3 of various whiskeys.

Mixed up the Paloma recipe that came with the Youth Lagoon album last night. Invited friends over, sipped Palomas, & listened to the album. Errybody liked the drink AND the album. My Wife declared that 2015 will be the Year of the Paloma. I'd say it was a success.

My first record was "I Love You, Honeybear" (but I also recieved YoH and Too Bright). Is there a place with all of the previous cocktail pairings listed? I would love to go back and try all of the ones I missed with the various LP's

I can only tell you the previous two, but the cocktail pairing for the Ben Webster album was a Gin & Tonic and the cocktail pairing for the Youth Lagoon album was a Paloma (which is delicious!).

i'm already a big gin and tonic drinker but the cuba libre with the sylvan esso record became one of my favorite cocktails for outdoor summer activities.

Beer cocktails are also a thing although I have yet to have one that I really enjoy. They're a curiosity. Sort of like when Lady Gaga sang with Tony Bennett. Sort of cool but nothing I can truly fall in love with.

Funny thing is I bought my wife tickets to see the GaGa-Bennett show when they come to Houston.

As a dago that was raised in New Jersey, I'm really interested in seeing Tony Bennett. I saw Frankie Valli last year in New Orleans and it was incredible.
