Not anymore, no. When I had a CD player in it the right channel crackled for 2 seconds on startup then ran fine. I have the same problem with headphones, so it’s not the speaker cable. @HiFi Guy - I’ll try the turntable cable swap and see what it does.

Changed the cables and it worked for a bit, then cut out. Boo.

If you play around with the right channel cable does it come in and out?

Not really. I think I might use this as an excuse to get a new amp!

£1 is roughly $1.27. The vast majority of japanese/Asian Big brand gear is pretty similarly priced the variances are that U.K. stuff is a bit cheaper here and US stuff a bit more expensive. I’d say the recommendations you’d make for under £500 and £500-£1000 would be very similar to the ones you’d make for someone over there.

My big problem is a spent an afternoon listening to Linn stuff a couple of weeks ago. I may need someone sensible to convince me that I'm never going to be able to afford a Linn Selekt and go for something a bit more affordable!

Not sure. It’s still showing as pending so
I emailed them today and they’re getting onto the distributor to give me a rough idea. I knew they didn’t hold them in stock so I was anticipating at least a month, now I’d be happy with early/mid January.

    How's that? :ROFLMAO:

    Ooh, tubey!

Sensibly, I'm thinking that the realistic option could be for me to go for an Onkyo A-9010 at £200 for now, then use that while I'm saving for the Linn (this is going to happen!). I think I'm going to go for Fyne Audio 501's for new speakers, but all this is very much cash (and job) dependent...

Yeah I can’t wait! It’s a big step up from my Sony!

I went silver, thats the colour my CD player phono and tuner are and I’m a stickler for aesthetics lol!
