Hey man, not all inwall/installed speakers are the same. My main system has all inwall speakers except subs and they are amazing.

For reference that’s a 60” tv (the pj screen rolls down and is acoustically transparent for movies) and the little black boxes on the floor are 120 LB 18” subs.

A closer pic of the mains show they have 3 x 8” drivers and use compression drivers in a complex wave guide. Normally I have the magnetically attached and paint matches grills on these, and the just disappear.

Here’s the spec sheet for my JBL Synthesis SCL-2’s.

(Disclaimer: this post was half because people may not realize how far inwall designs have come and half because I like to show these things off. :) )

Oh yes, I know installed speakers can be amazing, and you can't beat the looks. And in your setting, having the external subs also makes a big difference. Plus your room looks exceptional, which is hard with in walls some time. Excellent choice with the JBLs by the way. That's what most theaters are still using, so they know some things about cinema.

But you can't tweak installs, so it takes away from the fun ;)
I like to be able to swap things out, or keep them if I move. It's all fear of commitment really, haha.

Any suggestions on which alignment projector I should use to check the alignment on the RT85 with the stock head shell & cartridge. Starting to notice what i believe to be sibilance....mostly on inner tracks and just want to make sure the alignment is spot on. Could also just be the 2LP set I'm currently listen to. Thx !!

There’s one printed in the back of the manual you can cut out or you can download the manual and print one out yourself.

Thank you both. The more I read about break-in of the Blue, I might just be experiencing some changes in sound. Only about 10 hours in.

I've really been fighting with my wallet since they announced this table, trying to figure what the soonest I could get it would be if I trimmed all my other (unnecessary) expenses.

I really wish they would sell an option with no cart. I know the Blue isn't bad, but I love that musical sound that Ortofons just don't seem to have.

I think the rt82 is that basically. Actually hmm I could order that then get a cart elsewhere....

    Edit: nevermind it's really not

Ugh. I'm impatient. Does anyone have availability information more specific than "soon" or "shouldn't have to wait too much longer"?

Fluance released a communiqué thanking everyone for their amazing support and how delighted they are with the reception of the Reference Series TT and blown away by the interest in the RT85. They added, they're working hard at making more available ASAP. They will have a small batch arriving in a few weeks and apparently are ramping up production to get more in February.

I got that notice too. I'm like, "but a few weeks from now will be February!"

I can't decide if this is something I "need" to get soon. I have 0 complaints about my current setup. But it looks so nice and I imagine would be an improvement.
