    hey guys!

Especially after the AMA with Cam there has been a lot of discussion about warps and other defects. There is a contingent that thinks these things are under reported.

Honestly, I’m one of those people. I never report a slight dish because of my clamp use.

I started last month reporting issues, even when slight, because not everyone has a clamp or can appropriately use one (see me).

Given some of the information Cam shared with us, I think it is important for us all to do this so that VMP can get a bigger idea of how much of a problem there is with this from the plants.

Is this something we can all get behind for the better of the club and our enjoyment and most importantly our stylus and tone arm suspensions?

    Just voicing my two cents.

I will do so, fortunately I don't think I have had a reportable warp thus far (just a few very very minor ones) - I typically email in if there is a problem even if I don't need a fix/replacement

I’m behind this. I have only had this box warped after a long time of not having a single complaint. One issue with a seam split, but that’s it.

All jokes aside, I do have a slight fear of my future boxes having the same problem and the same attitude of not being an issue. I understand that Paul does everything in his power to get us replacements. I believe that is the greatest thing about this company/club. As they should, they do hold up their end of the problem if something is amiss.

It’s the fact that I am so excited to get these records in. I get home, open the box and want to enjoy every physical aspect of it. Sure, I’ve listened to these albums before so I know what it sounds like but, I play, enjoy the packaging and have my SO enjoy it too. If I can’t play my record on day one, even with a clamp, the experience is not what it could be. We do pay money for these items and that does factor in for the frustration and disappointment.

I am not the kind of person to give shit to Paul and @info because I know they will take care of it. I will send a nice email just to express my concerns but, as @lee newman said, they should know this is a bigger problem. I love this club and will continue to buy but, they need to see.

I like it @lee newman , just because a member is ok with keeping the album and not asking for a return or exchange, the powers that be should still know the frequency of the issues.

I don’t think anyone was advocating to be mean to CS

I know but some new people who experience this may just overreact and use CS as a scapegoat for their frustrations.

You’re right. People are going to do as they please.

Maybe with enough emails, they’ll see it too.

So are you saying only report it by sending an email @info or post it here and/or send an email?

Certainly! Was just wondering if we were making defects more visible to the larger audience by compiling forum posts of what we send to @info or keeping it between ourselves and @info.

I'm in on this pact either way.

Given that defects are reported here quite often for us to think there is a bigger issue, VMP says it is smaller than we think. So either they’re right or it’s underreported and only things sent in matter? I don’t know. Send them pics and let them know. It’s the only way they’ll understand.

This months VMP box warped score:
    The Silvertones
    Malik
    Soul Makossa
    OME

This is the most for me up until now. Also got from VMP store Amnesiac(Radiohead) & Process(Sampha) but those were fine other than a few corner dings.

This month is only 1/12 which is pretty good. Unfortunately the warped record is Rolling Blackouts CF Loser edition so I doubt there are any replacements. I'll take a video and still let them know. It has a sharp pry warp that seems to be mostly at the exterior of the record. Plays ok and it's at the outer edge of my tolerance level (that's certainly a YMMV thing).
