A clamp works best with a washer that goes onto the platter beneath the record. This allows the clamp to push the record down onto the platter.

So...received my copy today. First song I checked out was “Sunshine” since I really liked the chill vibe of that one...only to find out it’s a different song than the one on Spotify...anyone know what’s up with that?

Was genuinely confused but also it made sense because I didn’t think it really fit in with the rest of the album.

I don't have my copy, but I just checked out the Spotify version and it's definitely not the same as the version I had on CD. So I'm guessing the pressing uses the original version, but I can't confirm 'til Thursday (until Thursday becomes Friday somehow).

That’s what I’m thinking, or Spotify mixed up two songs with the same title? Thought Groove Armada being attached to the name on a HBMS song and album seemed a little out of place as well.

In not shocking news, my wife does not like this album.

My wife seems pretty indifferent to it, too.

Reminder she asked I get her Rico Nasty.

I still need to play this but I think my wife will enjoy it. It seems like something that's right up her alley.

Just got around to spinning this last night, and this release is top tier R&HH for me. Thank you VMP!

Considering it’s one of the few 90s hip hop records to not include a track of the artists simulating loud, chaotic group sex (cough cough, De La and Biggie), this one’s going to get more spins when my wife’s home.

I will take one for the team and accept this record as a donation from the guys who are being attacked by wives.

All this talk of wives not liking albums makes me feel really fortunate to have an SO whose tastes line up so similarly with mine (for the most part) - if we were to ever break up I'm pretty sure she would try to take the Arctic Monkeys, TV On The Radio, Saba, and Noname ROTMs :p

I love this record. Best RHH for me since Saba or Open Mike Eagle. This is much more in my wheelhouse of RHH.

If I gave away every record she didn’t like I’d have at least a thousand less records.

Same here, but she did like De La (which I wasn't expecting)

Got mine yesterday, both look pretty flat - didn't have time to get them on the spinner.
I like the dark translucent green color.

Got HBMS, 3 Feet High, and De LA Soul Is Dead. All three albums are dished pretty bad. This was the case with Blossom Dearie two months ago. I did send the Blossom Dearie back because it actually impacted play. All three albums seem to track fine, but vinyl on one side of each album literally doesn't touch the platter. And HBMS is pretty wobbly on top of being dished. I see other people are having these issues, I just hate to keep sending them back to VMP. What level of a warped record is acceptable when is isn't necessarily impacting the tracking/ playing of the album?
