I wonder if someone can Help me.

Picked up a Hitachi HT-L303 last week for next to nothing. It looked to be in fair to good condition with a good top cover (only a few light scratches) and no major dings or dents. Surprised as to how light it was.

Linear tracking with its original Hitachi cartridge. Stylus looked usable.

Anyway, the arm refused to show any sign of life, so I opened it up and, sure enough, the nylon thread that sits in the arm section and moves the arm along a rail had come off a large pulley and was just lying there, still attached to the arm.

I have spent literally hours trying to work out how this thread can be rewound around the pulley, but to no avail.

I have a service manual, but it does not cover replacing the thread.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, I would be very grateful.

    Thank you,
    John

    I don’t have a clue. I’d probably take it to a shop.
