My bad! I completely read that wrong. I read it as if you were saying Alchemist never really went anywhere with his production when what you meant is "he never left". Sorry about that dude!

Just wanted to remind everyone that Alchemist's tape with Action Bronson "Rare Chandeliers" is one of the greatest mixtapes of this decade and it needs to get pressed as a RHH release at some point (y)

I also really enjoy this one and would love a pressing.

Yeah, I'd be happy if those both got pressed.

i got a little tired of Bronson's persona, but even when i was on his pp, this album didn't really speak to me for some reason

I never understood all of the excitement with him... and I really didn't get the Ghostface comparisons... but I dig this release, Blue Chips of course, and Saab Stories... didn't really paid attention after that.

Has anyone listened to the Mayhem Lauren and Harry Fraud: Pieces of Glass? I think I played it through on youtube one night but don't really remember it.

If you haven’t, check out White Bronco. His best project in a minute imo.

Yea his whole catalog is pretty decent imo. Those 2 Blue Chips albums are the only times hes gone above decent for me.

He was fantastic live the time I saw him at Bonnaroo

I have mixed feelings about seeing him. I had to sit through a few hours of awful opening acts and then he came out..played three songs..threw some PSPs into the crowd..played another song..threw a giant flatscreen tv into the crowd..played two more songs..threw another flatscreen into the crowd....left the stage..and that was it. Everybody was just like..is he coming back out? Eventually the lights came on and everyone just kinda looked around and left..

Bronson simply entertains me like few (if any) other rappers can. The line between straight comedy and classic braggodicio New York rap is often blurred and when he picks the right beats, it's just a blast to listen to. Plus this man fvcking loves food and raps about it all the time. I too, also fvcking love food. Rare Chandeliers was the first time I was able to take him seriously as an artist and the Alc beats were a perfect match. Saaab Stories is also incredible - perfect EP. Who else can say shit like:

"Smoke the wax like a candle
It be that shit you can't handle
Look just like doodoo in the pamper
Like when my son drinks too much apple juice, loose
When he was four he got his dick sucked by a prostitute
    Right in the pasta chute"
    (from Dennis Haskins)

    and

"As baby turtles break the sand just to figure out the meaning
Instinctively they heading towards the water cause they need it"
    (from Alligator)

and have it actually sound respectively hilarious and powerful

Action Bronson is pretty hit or miss for me but I still often go back to this one, it's gold

He just oozed charisma when I saw him, making jokes, smoking blunts with fans, rapped in the crowd, rapped in a port a potty, walked over to the handicap area and did a few songs there and never missed a beat the entire time. I've been to about a dozen Bonnaroos in my life and have seen some really special shows there by all time greats and yet this Bronson set is up there with top 10 shows I've ever seen at Roo.

The association with RiffRaff probably disqualifies it for some people but Bird on a Wire is probably still the bestest al+action combo for me... that production is just too summer eve muggy to ignore.

I've always considered AB and RR on the same level. Only Riff Raff was the funny one.
