I added a French laugh after this and made myself laugh for 45 seconds
Damn, what's a french laugh ?
Hmm. I'm wondering if we should be offended by this @Skalap ?
Is this band European and do they have the same generic cup design in Europe as the 2nd from left's person sweat shirt?
Don't forget Pierre Escargot!
No worries. I've already asked about wax (I know a couple of the members) and it sounds like a remote possibility. They played Jazz Re: Freshed's Sounds of 2019 gig last night and may make an appearance at the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards next week. I think being on those platforms will hopefully widen their audience and get some kind of distribution deal in place for them. I'll be pushing for a vinyl release at every opportunity!
Nice pick up from the Post Office. My 'Im definitely going on a vinyl diet this year' package.
I am spinning Grantstand right now, such a fantastic record start to finish. The very rare Yusef Lateef sighting on Blue Note.
Rosie's 5ive is available on Spotify now. Listening on the way to work and fingers crossed the record will arrive to play over the weekend.
A french label named "Le Très Jazz Club" (under Modular Records) has an amazing catalogue with great jazz reissues at an interesting price. Especially Hiroshi Fukumura Quintet's Morning Flight and Isao Suzuki Quartet's Orang-Utan. (19€)
Great deals for such beauties.
I am too ignorant to tell something relevant about the quality of the pressing, but I thought it would maybe interest someone. Maybe @Skalap ?
Do you smell it Skalap, do you smell the rabbit hole... I see that Fuzati is behind the label, it might be good I'll play it now. Thanks, or not, for the heads up!
Yes, it's him! Vive le Klub des Loosers!
There is the Le Tres Groove Club
The artwork for that Isao Suzuki Quartet is fantastic!!
Im in the middle of reading the Blue Note Autobiography and was surprised to see Yusef Lateef mention in that. Might have to be one of the first I listen to!
I just now had a text to say a package has arrived at my flat....fingers crossed its Rosie's 5ive
I have three of the Three Blind Mice reissues from Le Tres Jazz Club and they're fine for the price, nothing that screams audiophile but far from terrible either. Impex have some Three Blind Mice reissues that are truly audiophile but they cost a fortune, way out of my league unfortunately. All great music though.
I have both of those...... 10/10 would buy again
