this is my favorite thread.
They're slightly different heights.. and I feel both sad and uncomfortable about this.
Think I’m nearing capacity for this one...
how many records are there?
I have only a tiny 2 cells Kallax and then piles of records around the TT stand (don't judge me please).
I need to understand what do I need to store 250+ records that I own, plus room for future growth..
Depending on how many double-jacket, gate fold and box sets, I generally get about 350-400 in a Kallax 4x2. I try to keep them upright but not tightly pressed together.
Space is at a bit of a premium where I store my records. If I were to keep them a little looser it would probably be ~300-325.
Can’t remember if there’s a set-up thread, sooo... here we are:
Yeah, it’s about 350-400. I’ve got room just now for overspill in my Stereo table, so I’m ok for now. Next year is hopefully going to be a saving year, so I might not need much more room.
Kallax should hopefully be here for a while, so you could get a 2x4 and add to it later?
Yes, this is driving my wife crazy. It was fine when they were horizontal. One is the current version and the other is an older one. I may need to buy a replacement.
Alright, where did you get the console. It's reaaaally pretty.
Yea I’m into it to. Does it hold your records? I’ve been shopping for a shelving system with a console type bottom that looks good enough for a modern living room.
Not my collection but a cool article about Peanut Butter Wolf's collection and vinyl bar:
I could live here
Maybe we could be roomies? This looks like heaven.
as if Peanut Butter Wolf could get any cooler, gaaaahhhhhhh
if you're not familiar with him- get on board. also, if you ever are in need of 24 hours of sweetness, I love his Valentine's project from a few years ago- 400+ songs from his collection of soul 45s.
AND if you are in L.A.- go to Gold Line. it's his new bar under Stones Throw based on Japanese vinyl bars. craft cocktails, a highball machine, and 7,500 of his records that other DJs drop on the table. j'adore. (*that's the photo above)
Well, we're nearing the end of the year so where did we end up? 482 is the total and I think the Kallax is hanging in there
What did you start the year with?
