Ahh didn't know that.
Just ignore my suggestion then
Rega is against clamps and designs their spindle to not work with them. When Michell fixed the problem, rega made the spindle smaller.
That makes me annoyed at Rega! Why would they do that???
I’ll be fine without a clamp though but would’ve really liked to of have one to just make sure the record is a tiny bit more even!
There are lots of people who don’t think clamps should be used at all. There are a variety of reasons.
Yeah, I’m aware there’s definitely people against clamps. It is very dependent on what turntable you have and how heavy your clamp is and how strong your turntable is and if you like the sound or not after placing the clamp on your vinyl/turntable.
I just hate when others force the decision for me- I'm a grown ass woman, let me do what I want! and similarly- if I'm gonna sticky pudding up, let me! but I don't own a Rega or a clamp so this is just a rant.
Third copy of Mavis. Third off center side 2. Side 1 is almost perfect. How does that even happen? The last song, You Send Me, sounds SO bad. Like someone is literally pitch shifting it to be annoying.
Not sure what to do
Yeah I figured this out after buying my Rega. It would be nice to be given the choice, but sometimes with this stuff I like to be forced into a little simplicity. I'm obviously a mac user too.
Haven’t listened to this since I first got it. So good. Definitely hitting the spot on this cold Sun.
I’m listening to the sclusie now with the ROTM on deck.
My third is on its way for the same reason. I believe it happens when the stamper is made, so the chances of getting one that is good depends on the ratio of centered to off-centered stampers. Personally, I’m asking for a refund if the next one is off. I’ve gotten records with off-centered sides before, but this is the worst by far.
If it is a stamped issue (honestly unsure - would really need to see the press GZ uses to figure that out) it should be caught in qc. There are non off Center copies
Because I have one.
It should have been caught. Especially being as far off as it is.
My second copy was less off centre than my first, so I just decided to live with it. It's not much.
Replacement copy came in today and it’s off-center. This is like trying to win the lottery. I wish VMP could inspect replacements for defects before sending them out, like Music Direct does.
Not while they’re at Saddle Creek you don’t.
I'm still waiting for a response from support regarding my 3rd bad copy. Still haven't decided what I want to do
Why is that?
“Wish” was the operative word. I know it’s not going to happen. At least not until I complete the ritual sacrifice ceremony. Just need to get my hands on a whisker from Shaefer’s beard and I’ll be ready to go.
VMP doesn’t have anyone on site, or even in the state AFAIK.
