P.S. @EmeryRK - I apologize for any changes to the shop next time you come in...I fought hard for them to do nothing...but I lost that war :(...Luckily I did successfully get them to keep a majority of the graffiti in the hallway.

I was in no way complaining about it :)

I pass by there every time I go to the AMC on the West Bank. I enjoy many of those aspects of the city. Just commenting is all.

lol, nothing major. Just put up some shitty bright teal walls in the front, and cleaned up the hallway a bit. I personally hate it but only because I am so close to that place. Most costumers seem to dislike it as well though.

I've turned it into a battle of historic preservation.

Nice! I'm not too familiar with that area. Honestly haven't spent any time there for probably 10 years or so. The family normally just all meets up in Slidell. I do seem to remember a cousin or two that attended Hahnville, I'll have to ask and see!

They didn’t take down any of band memorabilia going up the stairs? I loved that most of all.

Currently, yes. It's just bare walls with graffiti. We are gonna put new poster holder things in though, and I am trying to get him to frame all the signed stuff we have hidden out of view.

I dunno. We are also getting a modern point of sale system in there. So all in all, times are a changing.

Eh, boredom mainly. Worrying about not looking busy enough...Stuff like that lol.

The Point of Sale update has been coming for the past 6 months or so, spurred by one of our more over-zealous employees.

I personally view it as a loss of character. But I am admittedly partial to history & character, over profit.

I'm in the 'dell...and I am laaaaammmeee AF. I blame it on the kids. Knowing how small Slidell is, my guess is that I probably know someone that you know.

I wouldn't be surprised! Although most of Gen X & Y have moved away from Louisiana so it's pretty much just the grandparents and their siblings left there.

    Sure was a Chalmation!

Not anymore, I moved out near Atlanta for work in '16. Haven't solidified my next step in life, but back to Louisiana is definitely an option in the next few years.

Yeah, we'd be gone too if my husband's job wasn't tied to this place. There are just no opportunities here for young people.

This is a really cool thing. I'm sure I've been to a few of these, but I've been to the WWII museum so many times that memories of it are sticking out.

I truly feel like this is the vibe all Popeyes send out. my brain does a similar dance when I partake.
