There's an entire thread devoted to Kanye West, so why not have an entire thread devoted to Radiohead?

too difficult to order. I like them all as individuals. they are one of the few modern bands that have developed their music over time rather then just boshing out the same formulaic rubbish time after time.

The top few are sort of interchangeable, but i like OK Computer, The Bends and Kid A sort of equally. My least favorite is king of limbs.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I kind-of don't understand how people who are approximately my age (30s) have a favorite band other than Radiohead.

really loved Radiohead back in the 90's, The Bends is my personal favorite but OK Computer has to be their best work in my opinion. everything after has overall been pretty good but either I have changed, they have changed or everything's changed...

will I get the new album? of course I will.
will I like it? probably as much as the last few, which isn't nearly as much as I like their earlier stuff...

Ranking the albums is tough, definitely subjective...it depends on when you got into them I think. I saw them on the Hail to the Thief tour; standing in the orchestra pit, it was amazing. So that album will always be one of my favorites because it hit me at the right time.
Top three - Bends, Ok, Hail
Then - Kid A, Amnesiac, In Rainbows
    Then - King, Pablo
I really like I Might Be Wrong - Live Recordings. And the Live from the Basement stuff is pretty cool as well.

They are no longer my favorite band, but at one point in my life they were. I kinda suffer from being burnt out on Radiohead and not liking their last 2 albums.

Interchangable depending on mood though #1 is usually consistent
    1.The Bends
    2.In Rainbows
    3.Kid A
    4.Hail
    5.OK Computer
    6.Amnesiac
7.King of Limbs (though I have a feeling this is a grower, never really gave it a chance and probably sounds great on vinyl)
    8.Pablo

EDIT: I also "get" that OK and Kid A are more "important" than I have them ranked but the top 2 here just have sweet, sweet SONGS. especially the Bends

    8. Amnesiac

One of the acids trips I took in college ended with me on my bed in my studio apartment on the come down, smoking herb and listening to Radiohead. that is what cemented Hail to The Thief's place for me above The Bends and Ok Computer, which are also fantastic records.

On a side note, I am also a huge fan of King of Limbs. It really creates a laid back, groovy atmosphere that is great for accomplishing work or studying.

Kid A has been overplayed for me, hence why I ranked it low. But, I decided to listen to it in my car today and I'm loving it. It's been a while since I listened to it, so coming back for to it is refreshing.

There are only a handful of bands that truly changed my life when I first heard them. Radiohead is one of those bands. First album I heard was Kid A, lying on my bed in the dark.

I've only seen Radiohead live once, after King of Limbs, at Bonnaroo. Unfortunately it was not the life altering experience I thought it would be due to me being incredibly far away from the stage and being surrounded by bros who just talked the whole time.

YESSSS. The Bends all the way, though I like the tiered approach, like @rambalam

My Unfuckwithable Top 2: The Bends, OK Computer

Wonderfully confusing: Kid A, In Rainbows

Essential but scattered: OK Computer/Bends-era b-sides

Have their moments but not my faves: Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, TKOL

To use as a placeholder to further separate PH from the rest: Thom Yorke's Solo Stuff, rest of b-sides

Not THAT bad (if it were any other band): Pablo Honey

So I grew up through this and wrote them off because of Pablo Honey. "Just another band capitalizing off the grunge movement **cough cough Nada Surf**" So I actually missed the Bends when it came out and discovered it later. So let this be a lesson to all you youngsters out there, don't write anything off.

I grew up with Radiohead. One of the first bands that came out while I was getting into bands I liked and not just what my parents listened to. So, like others, my Radiohead preferences are affected by how I got into them. I liked Pablo Honey right away. It was moody rock, I liked moody rock. I was sold. The Bends solidified my fandom and in college I couldn't wait for OK Computer to come out. It still is my favorite by them.

    1. OK Computer
    2. The Bends
    3. In Rainbows
    4. Kid A
    5. Amnesiac
    6. Hail to the Thief
    7. King of Limbs
    8. Pablo Honey

Bottom five change around quite a bit depending on my mood but the top 3 are the same.

this actually pretty well mirrors my Radiohead experience. I hate(d) Pablo Honey and actually wrote them off really until college (I had a less-than-traditional high school musical journey) and giving Hail to the Thief a listen...that brought me in and as such, is probably still my favorite Radiohead album.

I go through fits and stops listening to them...this thread has me delving back in out in my workshop now...I'll probably rifle through most everything in the catalog over the next few days and then not listen to them again for months.

This was me too. I had Pablo Honey and it was ok. I didn't take a second look until many of my favorite electronic artists started mentioning them as influences. Kid A is a really cool album. I dig it.

Kid A deserves to be #1 on everyone's list. In rainbows is probably my favorite next to that. Then OK Computer, then Amnesiac, then King of Limbs. Then Hail to the Theif. then others.
