Rap Hip Hop was easier. Didn’t get the rest. Might have liked to have Saba. First four are love. Last four are like. Nothing bad at all.

Rising. Honestly, these are phenomnal. I’m really starting to wonder about the folks who say 2018 was lackluster. The top five could take number one spots just about any year and only one of them made it in my top twenty for the year.

Is it bad that rising are my favorite subs? They get as much play as any others and I tend to play them when guests are over more often

Not at all. Classics is my personal fave, but Rising is a bright spot in VMP’s curation overall.

    2. Mitski (Ended up being of my favorite albums of the year)
    3. TV On the Radio (Awesome sounding pressing, great album!)
    4. Moby (Had never heard this album in full before but was really impressed by it)
    5. Queen
    6. Feist
    7. Beach House
    8. Mavis Staples
    9. Ayalew Mesfin (not bad, just not something I would listen to very often)
    10. Clipse (Enjoyed some of the RHH releases this year more than this)

Essentials, of the ones I didn't swap:
    1. Mitski - Be The Cowboy (an excellent record and very mice packaging from VMP)
    2. Moby - Play (Love this record, probably because I have the benefit of being young enough not to be sick of it already)
    3. TVOTR - Return To Cookie Mountain (a bit on the lofi side for me but still a decent record by a great bad)
    4. Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I am, That's What I'm Not (was big into this album when I was younger and still am it turns out)
    5. Queen - A Night At The Opera (eh, it's classic rock but not really into it, that vinyl is pretty as hell though)
    6. Townes Van Zandt - For The Sake Of The Song (it's nice! Not something I play too much.)
    7. Feist - Let It Die (big ol' meh from me)
    8. Clipse - Lord Willin' (not a fan of this style of music, just didn't swap out in time)

    (I swapped these: )
    • Ayalew Mesfin - My Worries
    • Beach House - Devotion
    • Silvertones - Silver Bullets
    • Mavis Staples - S/T
