I was ready to skip this RHH selection without even listening to save some money that I've been throwing around lately. Made the good/bad decision to throw this Ivy Sole album on this morning and I'm sold only about 5-6 songs in. This is some really great stuff.

    2 questions related:

    1) I will admit to not listening to a lot of female hip hop. What are some others that you'd suggest that might be similar?

    2) The mock-up for this Ivy Sole record look amazing. Not to completely disregard all the ROTM but it seems like exclusives get the "cooler" designs for the actual record. This has probably been detailed before but what's the process like for designing the actual record looks?

Mainly, wanted to say thank you for this. The fact Coal Miners daughter hasnt had a reissue in this long is a crime. This was my guess the month TVZ was a pick and I'm so excited to get it this go around and replace my old used copy (which is like the third one I have bought). Looks like an amazing package.

What was the inspiration for 'Fist City' (which I also just bought) to be the store pick to go along with it?

Nat Turner looks fantastic! First Classics release for me! Though the blue Loretta Lynn with the foiling looks great too! Jesus, another great month!

One question though. Are there any plans to release the other Nat Turner Rebellion vault songs that aren't on the album?

The Ivy Sole mock up is Dope! If the actual album looks half as cool I will promptly pee myself. Was this your intention?

I can’t buy the plant album, I’d be worried about this cautionary tale...

What are the cut and mastering details on Fist City? Same as Coal Miners Daughter?

A guy said in another thread he would get VMP logo tattoo'd on him if you got a kendick lamar exclusive (see his early works which desperately need vinyl release)

Make sure u make this happen and tag him in it so he gets it done ;)

Really looking forward to hearing the Nat Turner record!

I really get the feeling reading the notes that as much as it was stressful it was a lot of fun to put together. Is this something that you guys are looking to do again in the future with other artists unreleased material or was this just right place right time?

That's not entirely accurate .he said he would get the tattoo if VMP got the initial pressing of an upcoming Kendrick album.

Loving the Loretta Lynn this month.

Will there be more classic country? I think a bunch of us in the forums got excited when we all thought it was Dolly, so just putting that out there. Or one of the duet albums between Loretta and Conway Twitty would be cool. Or a solo Conway album.

Yes, this exactly. I have been bugging Storf for months when I read he was behind the Willie reissues and Colter Wall exclusive to seek more country. I like other genres too--punk especially, ahem--but love traditional country. All of VMP's country exclusives-Wall, Prine, Jinks- have gone quickly so there's interest. There are so many amazing women in country as well, so glad to see Loretta getting her due. She was forward thinking and outspoken lyrically in the late 60s and 70s when it was very unpopular and uncommercial to do so-you could say she had a punk rock attitude.
Dolly's 'Coat of Many Colors' is also needed.
Thanks again Storf, you're my VMP champ, fam!

I have an old Nat Turner 45 that one of my DJ mentors turned me on to a while back. I never thought I'd see an entire LP release from them. To say I am stoked is an understatement.
