@6od has been threatening it for a while, but I think it's time to make a thread for the Squeaky Clean. A lot of us seem to have it, be interested in it, or have a need that it could fill.

    https://www.squeakycleanvinyl.com/

It's a RCM that you hook up to a shop vac at a fraction of the cost of other RCM options.

A lot of members seem to have it so please feel free to ask questions or advice.

Against the advice of @HiFi Guy I usally 1 part 91% Iso Alcohol, 3 parts distilled water and 2 drops of Dawn.

Edit: Actually, on my last batch I cut down the amount of alcohol that I used to about half of that.

The main one being that you don't have to batch clean. That was my biggest reason for getting this over my Squeaky Clean. Also, I found the you had to use the Spin Clean just right or it could actually make more surface noise. This is a lot easier to use. I can just clean a record and throw it on the table.

This is probably what i should actually use. How long do you let it set on the record before vacuuming? I'm mainly cleaning new records so they're not super dirty.

In addition to what @dbarila said, I think they key point is it's removing fluids vs just cleaning with fluids. I think a good comparison is spot cleaning a carpet vs deep shampooing a carpet. A spot clean will get the main stuff up and solve a basic problem, but you're still leaving chemicals and fluids in the carpet. A deep shampoo on a carpet does that, but then rinses the fluid and of the dirt and liquids out of the carpet. That's the type of clean you want on your records.

Exactly, which is why I believe that if you don't use the Spin Clean properly it can add surface noise.

There's probably advantages to each. But for me if the Record Doctor breaks you need to buy a new record doctor, but if the Squeaky Clean breaks you can just buy a new shop vac. I understand the issue about the record touching the mat but so far it hasn't been an issue.

Alright, I bought into this big time last night. In addition to the Squeaky Clean, I ordered:

Stanley 1 gallon wet dry vac
    2 x 2oz Vinyl Zyme concentrate
    2 x 250ml wash bottles (1 for solution, 1 for rinse)

Anything else I'm gonna need/want here?

Awesome! I would add a cheap re-usable lint roller and a MoFi brush or two. You can use the lint roller to clean the platter quickly/easily between cleanings and it's also great for cleaning dried lint/hair off the brushes, which you can use to spread your solution.

At least when I bought it, Nick shipped a little brush to use for applying cleaning fluid. I also bought a soft-bristled paintbrush to help spread distilled water around the record during the rinsing step.

Oh yeah. I bought mine 2 years ago and he included that little brush. I use his brush for quick dry brushing and a MoFi brush for applying the solution and a 2nd MoFi brush for applying distilled water.
