Oh phew. They said they were moving to Norfolk (much much closer to where I live) and I was worried the whole thing fell through.

guessing it was a little tricky this month with all the ACL hubbub.

I do wonder why the SA spins keeps getting moved later
went from being a little tough to make it on a weekday evening to being a no go, I was over here hoping for an earlier time!

Yes! But uh, there are some discrepancies in regards to their equipment ... looking like we'll need a DJ vs. being able to hook up a TT to their system. Do you happen to know of any vinyl DJs?

I'd host it but I'm not on social media aside from this forum so I can't really promote it... which is kinda a major requirement of being the host hahaha

@green.bean what do we need to do to get a Spins in the U.K, prefereably London. If your looking for a venue there’s an amazing vinyl bar called ‘Spiritland’ which would be ideal. They have one of the most insane set ups I’ve seen, with a Kuzma turntable and custom speaker set up (needs to be seen to be believed). It would be the perfect place to have a Spins.

I'm trying ... & I actually spoke to them a few weeks back.

We chatted for about 45 minutes about The Spins // their space and came to the conclusion it would be best for a special Spins, like a Spins Classics. He mentioned when the host events open to the public they get unhappy customers bc there are a mix of peeps who are there for the music and want to hear it loud & clear ... and then there are also people who are on dates, catching up with friends, etc and find the loud music to be distracting. So long story short, we will be collaborating with them in 2019, but it will be for a special Spins Classics event. Talking to a few other possible London hosts as well. If you have any other ideas, feel free to throw em' my way.

Ah I see, well I will definitely be attending any classic Spins you put on there! In terms of venue specs, is it expected that the venue would have their own turntable? If its just a cool space you need then Hoxton Arches would fit the bill. In a similar note there's Archspace (on a side note a great London based Jazz group 'Ill Considered' are playing there in a few weeks and would be a great rising artist - just been introduced to their work and cant get enough of them). There's also the MOTH club in Hackney, really quirky and is an old servicemen club hall.

How's that Austin venue replacement going?
Is there truth to the statement that the host now has to buy the records they're giving away?
