Also time is running out quickly as we are listing our house in the beginning of Feb...so I don't have time to piece mail my collection. I am going to take it to my local to spread the vinyl goodness in my community.

I can understand a need for fresh start and freedom from the tyranny of things. Best vibes your way!

This depends entirely of the purpose of your diet. If it's just to save money, it definitely doesn't count.

    *gasp*
I can appreciate this perspective. Stuff is just stuff, even the really great stuff like books and music, and sometimes it's served its purpose in our lives and we can or should let it go.

Maybe consider setting aside one box--maybe just a cube--of records you truly love, music that makes you feel the most like yourself. The records you most want to spin late at night or during a storm or on a hot Saturday afternoon. If you curate it and then consider it one complete unit--one full kallax cube or milk crate or whatever--instead of collection to be built on, you might find it more manageable and enjoyable. You'd still be addressing the problem without paying the extreme penance of sacrificing all of the delightful music and ritual that drew you to vinyl in the first place.

@Crenshaw Blvd let me know if you need a safe space for a few boxes that you can't separate yourself from forever. They'll be safe here whenever you decide you want them back.

I second this thought, I purged everything a lifetime ago and while I don't regret the overall action, I do regret not pulling out a stack of personal favorites. Get an album case, holds 30 or so albums, it closes and has a handle, easy to move and store ;)

Me too. I’m getting my VMP package and it’s the first package since the new year. It’s kinda nice to not keep building the backlog of unwashed records as soon as I whittle it down. I’m down to about 10 records.

I was gonna post last night. How's everyone doing with their diet? I sinned and got the dead at cornell box. Outside of that, doing good.

I’m doing just fine (mostly because of a nice cache of VMP credit).

I blame @Crabbers for making me worry about what others in the "2014 Beatles in Mono" were at risk of going the FOMO route.

Looked like "A Hard Day's Night" was starting to go out of print here so had to snap one up for 20€.

You are lucky tho you can find them regularly over there tho...it’s nasty paying shipping for them.
