    We're starting this new thread as a way to let you all know when we release new features or fix issues on the website. We're going to leave it locked for now so that the important info is really easy for everyone to find, but if you ever have any website-related feedback, always feel free to shoot an email to our Head of Product at amy@vinylmeplease.com.

    Update: A Change In How We Ship Our Non-Exclusive Products

    We’re excited to share that we’re changing how we process and ship orders for non-VMP exclusive products starting tomorrow (Dec 5, 2018). While you’ll continue to get your ROTMs and other VMP exclusive titles shipped in your standard monthly box, our non-exclusive titles will be fulfilled and shipped separately and on a faster timeline


    We’ve accomplished this by integrated with one of the largest vinyl distributors in the U.S. who will now process the fulfillment of standard releases and non-VMP exclusive products. With this integration, these products will be shipped within 2 business days (depending on stock availability, release dates, and a few other factors) and shipped separately from ROTMs.


    We are excited to launch this integration as shipping speeds and timelines are a major point of feedback in how we can make VMP better. While this won’t change the fulfillment process for any ROTMs or VMP exclusive products, it is a major step towards making our shipping much faster. Here is more detail on what will be changing and how it will impact your experience:

    • Our shipping costs are not changing; all orders placed by members will continue to ship for free.

    • These orders will be processed within 3 hours of an order being placed, and we will not be able to cancel any order after it’s been processed. This is a change, since previously all orders were bundled with your ROTM shipments and could be easily cancelled before shipping.

    • Orders placed for most non-VMP exclusive products, including new releases, box sets, reissues, or other products will now ship out from the new warehouse within 2 business days of the order being placed.

    • These items will be shipped separately, and will NOT be included in your ROTM shipment. Please refer to the shipping estimate on the product detail page to confirm when an individual product will ship.

    • These orders will be shipped via USPS Media Mail for all U.S. domestic orders and DHL Worldwide Express for non-U.S. orders. For now, they will be shipped in non-VMP branded boxes.

    • A single order with multiple products may ship in several packages. You’ll receive a tracking email once something has shipped, just like before. In the coming weeks we’ll be launching an updated Order History page where you can easily track orders that have shipped and see which orders are still pending shipment.

    Sneak Peek: New Membership Page (will go live within the hour)

    This week, we’re releasing a new membership page (aka ‘the portal’) to your VMP account. We conducted a lot of research late last year about how to improve the experience in terms of managing your membership (and special thanks to those of you that helped us out directly). It’s a fairly big visual change, so it may take a little getting used to, but we’re excited about the updates it brings and sets us up for future improvements.


    We’d appreciate it if you could login to your membership page and check it out today. A few things we’d like to test out with you guys to ensure the information is correct:
    • Your billing info
    • Your next billing date
    • Your next billing amount
    At this stage, we’re trying to verify the accuracy of the information, less so looking for design feedback. Hoping we can catch any tech/informational errors today so we can fix them ASAP. Please DM @greenbean and @amymaher with anything you catch!


    Major wins include:
    • Easily keep tabs on most recent, as well as, upcoming payments for membership renewal.
    • When making changes to your membership, you’ll see more clear info on when those changes will go into effect. (You’ll now click those blue ‘edit’ links to make membership-level changes)
    • Better highlights the month’s ROTMs and provides easy access to their landing pages to learn more.
    • Utilizes an ‘upcoming’ section (which appears once Swaps has closed) to see when next month’s announce date will be and reflect any future Track changes you may make during this time.
    • This page will update for a few different phases
      • When Swaps is open.
      • Once Swaps has closed and your order is processing.
      • Once your order has actually shipped and links to tracking.

    We hope this update will allow you to spend more time digging into the monthly records, making Swaps --- ultimately getting what you want out of the membership. And less time trying to figure out what’s actually going on with your membership. We know as with any major release, there will be some issues. Our knowledge base will be updated at the time of release with new help articles should you get stuck. We’d love for you all to check out this new page in your account and if you do see anything that seems off, please let us (@green.bean and @amymaher) know and we’ll use that info to smooth out any post-release kinks.

    **BUG FIX**
    We're rolling out a release to the site right now to fix the "can't check out on mobile" problem. You may see a little funkiness on the site while we release. Thanks to everyone who alerted us!
